How to use the Z t Chi-square and F P-value Calculator

Enter an already valid test statistic, its reference distribution and any required degrees of freedom. Two-sided mode is supported for symmetric z and t distributions. Use a single specified tail for chi-square and F.

The calculation

Normal uses Φ; t uses regularized beta; chi-square uses regularized gamma; F uses regularized beta

Worked example

z=1.96 has a two-sided normal-model p-value of about 0.0499957.

Assumptions and limits

No automatic choice of test, alternative, significance level or multiple-comparison correction. Floating-point approximations may lose precision in extreme tails; failures to converge produce input feedback.

Common questions

Which inputs should I use?

Convert an already valid z statistic to its normal tail probability. Choose the alternative specified by the analysis, rather than choosing a tail after seeing the result.

What does the result exclude?

No t, chi-square or F distributions. The normal CDF is approximate, and extreme tails may underflow or round to zero. No test assumptions or multiple-testing correction are inferred.
