How to use the Cash Conversion Cycle Calculator

Use averages measured over compatible periods. Inventory and receivable days describe cash tied up before customer receipts, while payable days offset that timing through supplier payment terms.

The calculation

CCC = inventory days + receivable days − payable days

Worked example

40 inventory days plus 30 receivable days less 45 payable days gives a 25-day cash conversion cycle.

Assumptions and limits

A negative result can occur when receipts precede modeled supplier payments. It does not by itself prove financial strength. The inputs are aggregate averages and omit seasonality and transaction-level timing.

Common questions

Why are payable days subtracted?

Later supplier payment offsets the time before cash is received from sales.

Does this calculate cash required?

No. It reports a time interval; converting it to financing need requires additional cash-flow information.
