How to use the US Social Security AIME Scenario Calculator

Enter AIME already determined using the appropriate SSA earnings history and wage indexing. Eligibility year means the year of turning 62, not merely the current payment year. The supported cohorts have full retirement age 67.

The calculation

PIA = 90% of first AIME tier + 32% of second + 15% above; apply month-based early/late factors for FRA 67

Worked example

An AIME of $3,000 with 2026 age-62 eligibility gives an unadjusted PIA of $1,705.80, before later COLAs.

Assumptions and limits

No earnings-history indexing, later COLAs, spousal/survivor benefits, disability, Medicare deductions or earnings test. Results are an educational pre-COLA claiming scenario, not an official benefits statement.
