How to use the Credit Card Minimum-Payment Plan Calculator

Simulate a percentage-of-balance payment with a dollar floor. Interest is added monthly on the starting balance, and the final payment is capped at the amount due.

The calculation

Each month: add interest, pay min(balance due, max(payment floor, starting balance×payment%))

Worked example

At 0% interest, 100% monthly payment pays a $1,000 balance in one month; smaller percentages produce declining payments until the floor applies.

Assumptions and limits

Card contracts use different minimum formulas and daily accrual. No new spending or fees; non-declining balances or schedules beyond 1,200 months are rejected.
