How to use the Lever Torque Calculator

Measure the lever from the pivot to the application point. The angle is between the lever vector and force, not automatically the angle to the floor.

The calculation

Torque magnitude = force × lever length × sin(angle)

Worked example

100 N at 0.5 m with a 90-degree angle gives 50 N·m torque magnitude.

Assumptions and limits

Reports magnitude only; clockwise versus counterclockwise depends on geometry. Flexibility, friction, distributed forces and safe wrench settings are excluded.
