How to use the Pipe Internal Volume Calculator

Use the internal bore and actual pipe length. The model assumes the entire circular pipe is filled, and calculates capacity rather than wall material volume.

The calculation

Liters = π diameter_mm² × length_m / 4000

Worked example

A 10 m pipe with 25 mm internal diameter holds about 4.9087 liters.

Assumptions and limits

Fittings, valves, roughness, internal deposits and partially filled pipes are excluded. Nominal trade size may differ from the actual internal diameter.
