How to use the Resistor Network Calculator

Select the connection of the entire listed resistor group. Use ohms consistently; the output is the ideal equivalent resistance at the group terminals.

The calculation

Series: R = ΣRi; parallel: R = 1/Σ(1/Ri)

Worked example

100, 200 and 300 ohms give 600 ohms in series or about 54.5455 ohms in parallel.

Assumptions and limits

Does not solve arbitrary mixed networks or determine ratings, temperature rise or safe wiring. Zero-ohm shorts and component tolerances are not modeled.
