How to use the Steady Room Heating Load Calculator

Estimate a simple steady sensible heating load from envelope conduction and outdoor airflow. The 0.33 coefficient approximates ordinary air volumetric heat capacity in Wh/(m³·K).

The calculation

Heating W = max(0, U×area×temperature difference + 0.33×airflow×difference − internal gains)

Worked example

40 m² at U=0.5 and 20 K difference, 60 m³/h ventilation and 100 W internal gain give 696 W, about 2,374.8506 BTU/h.

Assumptions and limits

Not a certified HVAC design or cooling-load model. Thermal bridges, infiltration beyond entered flow, humidity, sun, altitude and transient storage are excluded; no equipment size is prescribed.
