How to use the 3D Print Job Cost Calculator

Use slicer material usage including supports and an average measured power if available. The machine hourly charge is your allocation, not a live market rate.

The calculation

Cost = grams×price/kg/1000 + hours×watts×electricity rate/1000 + hours×machine rate

Worked example

100 g at $20/kg, five hours at 100 W and $0.20/kWh, plus $1/hour machine cost give $7.10.

Assumptions and limits

Labor, failures, finishing, taxes and shipping are excluded unless included in your machine charge. Do not double-count electricity if already included there.
