How to use the Wallpaper Roll Count Calculator

For no repeating pattern, enter zero repeat so the drop length is height plus trim. The result assumes full-height strips and rounds both strip and roll quantities upward.

The calculation

Drop length = ceil[(height+trim)/repeat] × repeat; rolls = ceil[ceil(wall width/roll width) / floor(roll length/drop length)]

Worked example

Ten meters of wall at 2.4 m high, 0.53×10 m rolls, 0.64 m repeat and 0.1 m trim require seven rolls.

Assumptions and limits

Straight-match pattern assumption. Offset matching, openings, corners and unusable defects are not modeled. Roll length must be sufficient for at least one complete drop.
