How to use the Milling Feed Rate Calculator

Supply parameters appropriate to your tool, material and operation. Effective cutting teeth and diameter may differ from nominal cutter geometry.

The calculation

Table feed_mm/min = rpm × effective teeth × feed per tooth; cutting speed = π D rpm/1000

Worked example

3,000 rpm, four effective teeth and 0.05 mm/tooth give 600 mm/min table feed and about 94.2478 m/min at 10 mm diameter.

Assumptions and limits

Converts your entered settings only; it does not recommend a safe chip load, machine speed or cutting condition. Tool engagement, rigidity and machine limits must be assessed separately.
